The mountain chain overlaps the Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area and includes Mongolia's sacred mountain, Burkhan Khaldun, which is associated with the origin of Genghis Khan. The range forms the watershed between the Arctic Ocean (via Lake Baikal) and the Pacific Ocean basins. Rivers originating in the range include the Onon, Kherlen, Menza and Tuul. Horse trek in the Mountains, a pristine wilderness area in Mongolia renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity. Saddle up and journey through lush forests, pristine rivers, and rolling hills, as you explore the rugged beauty of the Mongolian wilderness. During the trek we'll have the opportunity to marvel at the grandeur of the Chinggis Khaan stately statue.
