Buddhist Tour in Central Mongolia

Charter Flight

Overview

Buddhism was declared Mongolia’s national religion in the 13th century and has been widespread since the 1600s, deeply influencing the culture and spiritual life of the country. By 1990, there were 583 monasteries and temples across Mongolia, and visiting some of these sacred sites offers a perfect introduction to Tibetan Buddhism.

Among the remarkable monasteries featured on this tour is Erdene Zuu, which was built in the 1580s on the site of the ancient imperial capital of Karakorum. As one of the oldest monasteries in Mongolia, Erdene Zuu was once home to nearly 10,000 lamas and housed around 60 temples at its peak. Its stunning architecture, peaceful atmosphere, and historical significance make it a must-see destination for those wishing to explore Mongolia’s Buddhist heritage.
